The Practice was renamed Atkinson Peck Consulting Engineers in July 1990 following the formation of a Partnership between Peter Atkinson and Adrian Peck. In 1998 they were joined by John Baldwin and later by James Dickenson. In 2003 the practice was changed to a Limited Company, with Adrian, John and James taking on the role of directors. In July 2006 the office accommodation was relocated to Watson House on Waterloo Road in Central Stockport. Our new premises offer us badly needed space and scope for growth and expansion. We have settled in very well and are enjoying the new improved facilities. Conveniently situated for Manchester and other commercial centres of the North West, and in association with professional colleagues has facilities for local supervision of contracts in any part of the United Kingdom. We have always had a strong core business consisting of Structural inspections, subsidence investigations, small design works etc., but as the practice has grown so has our ability to handle larger commissions. We now have the staff and other resources to handle projects of substantial size and complexity, with previous commissions being for the Civil and Structural Design of developments up to a value of £35 million. However, we have not overlooked the service we provide on our smaller commissions and take great pride in the reputation we have built up for a friendly, efficient service and the provision of quality advice. We take particular pride in the reputation we have developed in relation to subsidence investigations and claims. Much of our efficiency is due to the fact that we are fully computerised for design, draughting and administration with a networked terminal on each member of staff's desk. Much design is done with bespoke software and all drawings are prepared with the latest version of AutoCAD. This allows us to handle projects of considerable complexity. |
